Germany aims to become climate-neutral by 2045. In order to achieve this ambitious goal, an all-encompassing transformation of the economy is necessary. In addition to the energy transition towards, at best, a complete supply of renewable energies, the promotion of green innovations is of central importance for the transformation. Furthermore, the pricing of CO₂ is emphasized as a central instrument of climate policy. However, carbon management strategies also play an important role. Finally, the carbon dividend should ensure social justice and create public support. The question arises as to whether the planned and implemented measures can actually make the green transformation a success.
