Through comprehensive analyses of case studies and craft types, the paper reveals how local brands creatively adapt smocking, merging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design principles. The findings suggest that smocking technology not only enriches the textile design repertoire but also contributes to the global identity and innovation of local Chinese clothing brands, bridging heritage crafts with modern design innovations.</p>
