Detection of the worst-case scenario and calculation of the highest amplitudes of lightning transients in different points of analysed system is important in lightning-related calculations. In the software EMTP-ATP, this can be done using the parameters variation calculation, which results in hundreds or thousands of output files containing the calculated results. Analyses and graphical presentations of such results in the software EMTPATP are complicated and time-consuming. This paper presents the solution to this problem based on MATLAB software. The application of the implemented procedure is illustrated in the example of lightning protection of the 110 kV substation at the wind park against transients caused by direct lightning strikes into the connected overhead line. Software EMTP-ATP is used to make the parameters variation calculations, while software MATLAB is used to analyse and graphically present the calculated results.
