The study presents a new distribution tariff methodology in Slovenia that will enter into force on 1 July 2024. Its main novelty is the introduction of five-time slots with substantially different charges, the introduction of an agreed capacity (apart from nominated) that can be changed upon request several times a year, and an increased weight of capacity (power) in the distribution tariff making it more cost reflective. It is expected that changes will substantially increase the capacities of the grid and help to adapt it to the challenges of the energy transition. The approach can be replicated only in countries where connected capacity charge represents a substantial portion of the distribution tariff.
