<p><italic>Health professionals have expressed concern about vision issues in relation to scooter travel, but despite low vision or legal blindness, scooter travel remains feasible. Safe scooter travel is the result of decision-making in relation to physical limitations and available sensory information. O&amp;M specialists are the only health professionals with a skill-set in blind and low vision mobility and are therefore equipped to conduct functional assessment of scooter users with low vision. A survey of the O&amp;M profession in Australasia (N=69) indicated that 67% of respondents had undertaken scooter work with clients, but 88% believed they would benefit from additional scooter professional development. Further research is needed to inform fair, consistent decision-making regarding scooter use</italic>.</p>
