<abstract xml:lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><bold>Background.</bold> Some tumour suppressor genes (<italic>BRCA2</italic>) and mismatch repair genes (<italic>MSH2, MLH1</italic>) are correlated with an increased risk for male breast cancer.<bold>Case report.</bold> Our patient developed secondary breast cancer after the treatment for Hodgkin's disease in childhood. DNA was isolated from the patients' blood and screened for mutations, polymorphisms and variants in <italic>BRCA1, BRCA2, p53, CDKN2A, MLH1</italic> and <italic>MSH2</italic> genes. We found no mutations but common polymorphisms, and three variants in mismatch repair genes.<bold>Conclusions.</bold> Nucleotide variants c.2006-6T>C and p.G322D in <italic>MSH2</italic> might be correlated with male breast cancer.</abstract>
