<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<p>Three specimens of whitecheek monocle bream, <italic>Scolopsis vosmeri</italic> (Bloch) were collected from Iraqi marine waters in the northwest Arabian Gulf. This is a substantial, confirmed record of this species from Iraqi marine waters. Body coloration characterizes this species. The presence of this species was revealed as a result of comprehensive ichthyological investigative work in the area.</p>

Three specimens of whitecheek monocle bream, Scolopsis vosmeri (Bloch) were collected from Iraqi marine waters in the northwest Arabian Gulf.
