Fatigue life prediction of power transmission towers based on nonlinear finite element analysis

Cite

In this paper, firstly, the fatigue damage of transmission towers is analyzed from the fatigue load and fatigue damage, and the S-N curve of transmission towers is used to obtain the fatigue damage accumulation. Secondly, the finite element model of the transmission tower is constructed by using the finite element software ANSYS, and the way of its load calculation, as well as the remaining life estimation, is given. Finally, an example analysis was carried out using a transmission tower in the GZ area, and its fatigue life was calculated for it. The results show that when the average wind speed is 15m/s, the maximum wind load time at 40m height is 128N, and the minimum wind load time is −131N. The minimum value of the remaining life of the transmission tower in the GZ area is 64.532, which shows that the fatigue life of the transmission tower can be predicted by using nonlinear finite element analysis.
