<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">As 2016 comes to a close, I am pleased to announce that <italic>Scandinavian Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology</italic> has begun a relationship with the new U.S. publisher Exeley and that the journal now appears on Exeley’s platform: http://www.exeley.com/journal/sj_child_adolescent_psychiatry_psychology. This is a very modern journal platform that is based on the technology used to electronically publish <italic>Nature.</italic> Numerous functionalities are available to the user, such as automatic metadata export to internet databases and abstracting services, social media sharing, responsive design (content optimization for mobile devices), citation export, cross-reference integration (live links), article metrics (usage statistics and reports on visibility), and rapid commenting. Altmetrics for the articles can also be tracked; these include the number of times a research articles is cited, tweeted about, liked, shared, bookmarked, viewed, downloaded, and mentioned. The platform also includes social media statistics on the article metrics dashboard so that the distribution of article mentions can be tracked. Exeley offers support for the indexing process, and <italic>SJCAPP</italic> articles are now indexed in JournalTOCs, ProQuest, and Exlibris.One of <italic>SJCAPP</italic>’s most important goals for the near future is to be indexed in PubMed, and many of our authors have asked when this is going to occur. There are two ways for us to get into PubMed: either through Medline or through PubMed Central. It is very difficult to go through Medline, so we will start with PubMed Central: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/, which is an open access repository for XML-formatted full-text articles. The basic criteria for journals to appear here are that they must be ISSN registered, they must have been publishing for at least 2 years, and they must have published approximately 50 articles. The sample set of articles submitted for review should be representative of the various article types and styles offered by the journal, and it should include the file formats found in the journal’s archive. Exeley performed an internal evaluation of our journal and determined that we are now ready to apply to PubMed Central: we have published more than 50 articles, we have been publishing for more than 3 years, and all of our articles have been converted to XML. It has been noted that we need to add information to each article about ethical aspects such as funding and any declarations of interest. We have begun to add this information in the current issue and will do so going forward; we have also written to the authors of the first and second issues of this year and asked them to supply these details. When this information has been collected and the first issue of 2017 has been published, we can send our application to PubMed. If the journal is rejected, we have to wait 24 months before we can reapply, so we must cross our fingers. This is truly an important step toward <italic>SJCAPP</italic> obtaining an official impact factor. After the journal is accepted to PubMed, we will go for Thomson Reuters. Exeley has also evaluated <italic>SJCAPP</italic>’s readiness to apply for indexing in Scopus, and it seems that we are ready for this as well. Scopus also provides journal metrics (www.journalmetrics.com), and we will be sending in our application shortly.Exeley also assists with the promotion of selected articles, and the Biederman article from this year’s issue 2 is now published on the homepages of several public relations agencies. We will continue to reach out to the media about selected articles to increase the visibility of the journal and thus increase submissions.We have just received a grant of 120,000 SKR from the Swedish “Vetenskabsrådet”. We will use this grant to pay for some of the services from Exeley.We are currently considering different strategies to raise the number of new articles submitted for publication. We will start here by asking you, dear readers, to consider making a submission to <italic>SJCAPP.</italic> As the journal becomes indexed in more databases, it will become easier and easier for more readers to access our articles. We are an open access journal that does not require payment for anyone to view our articles, and we do not charge any publication fees. All accepted articles are published in English and edited by a U.S. company at no charge to the authors. We have a fast and effective peer-review process, and we publish high-quality articles. This is our third and final issue for 2016, and we hope that you enjoy it.</div>
