The livability of cities has been a matter of global concern in recent times. Importantly, the ease of mobility and accessibility in cities remained paramount factors in enhancing residents’ locational decisions and suitability. It is on this basis that this study examined the nexus between city livability and transportation in the Lagos Metropolis, Nigeria. Anchored on the concept of livability, the study descriptively and inferentially analyzed the results of 1264 questionnaires administered to residents based on key livability themes. The study revealed low satisfaction with the livability key performance indicators. Similarly, the study revealed that most of the assessed transportation infrastructure facilities are in poor condition and thus hinder the ease of commuting and livability in the city. The result of the regression analysis revealed that transportation infrastructure statistically influenced the livability of the Lagos metropolis. The study recommends the need for expedited proactive measures, particularly structural improvement in transportation infrastructure, towards improving the livability of the Lagos Metropolis.

This research paper conducts the process of selecting the criteria that are the most appropriate for a transition from conventional to sustainable warehousing. SWOT analysis is used to emphasise the weaknesses of conventional and the strengths of sustainable warehousing to select the most appropriate for the herein presented study. The results have been verified via a questionnaire filled out by professionals in economics, logistics and warehousing, and mechanical engineering. be added under the methodology section. The results gave the five most important criteria by transforming the conventional into sustainable warehousing. Finally, the paper concluded that renewable energy sources are the most important criteria for transforming by conventional to sustainable warehousing by environmental aspects, as well as the smart technology is above all other criteria by economic aspect. Moreover, providing personal protection equipment and servicing machinery and vehicle on regular basis are the two mainly criteria by social (safety) aspect.

Food is required for both humans and animals, however during the covid-19 era, many small and medium-sized food enterprises are struggling to produce and transport food, and others are on the verge of closing down. Now is the moment to build a future strategy and action plan for the small and medium-sized food industry to mitigate the economic effects of the COVID-19 outbreak. This study’s objective is to identify probable tactics, policies, and action plans and evaluate their efficacy and acceptability. This study also explores and quantifies the post-COVID effects of Covid-19 on Bangladesh’s Small and Medium-Scale Food Industries. Using a non-probability sample technique, three types of self-administered questionnaires were utilized to gather data from the owner, factory in-charge, manager, and CEO of the Food and Beverage Manufacturing sector. Using SPSS software V.25, descriptive analysis was performed to display frequencies, %ages, and mean scores, while one-sample t-test was utilized to compare the value (mean) of the viewpoints (strategies &amp; action plans) with the supplied value (test value). Results indicate that the probable strategies and action plans (14 strategies) that need to be implemented by the government is high and acceptable and that the effectiveness of other probable strategies and action plans (5 strategies) that need to be implemented by food and beverage manufacturers may also acceptable and could apply to the post-covid situation.

Post COVID logistics, strategies and actions need to be taken: evidence from small and medium scale food and beverages manufacturing sector

In designing eco-buildings, windows play a big part in minimizing the energy load. There has not been any easy-to-use software to speed up the process, even after many recent studies about environment-friendly window size, shading, position, and material. Thus, a single-family house with simple geometry in Kvemelto karti, Georgia, was simulated to introduce an alternative method to manage this gap. A building information model (BIM) was devised for this procedure through Autodesk Revit® due to its simplicity, popularity, interoperability and convenience among its users. Not to mention, the energy analysis tool (The Autodesk Insight 360) in Revit (BEM) displays the total energy load while, in this case, focusing on window size, position, material, and shading executed by Autodesk Green Building Studio®. The early energy analysis (the optimum window-to-wall ratio (WWR), the windows’ location in the wall, material, and shading) suggested by BEM does not give enough information to apply in the early stages of design and create a net-zero-energy building. The aim is to show the gap between data-driven from BEM and design strategies and to display the information required to be more detailed. For this purpose, after using Insight 360 (a web-based tool) for investigating window shades, material, and WWR, it has been concluded that there is a need for a more convenient way to automate the process in more depth. They could help to pick a viable widow shading, size, position, and material. Besides, choosing determined factors using just BEM is not practical because detailed characteristics of window factors as determining elements are not defined. This tool has its limitations.

Our research work refers to measuring sustainability in supply chains. First of all we will touch the topic, what means measuring sustainability in supply chain and how it can be measured. We will focus on our research area of fifteen companies, where we will investigate how much Slovenian companies deal with sustainability in their companies, how much sustainability means to them and how they measure it, if their company contributes a lot to the sustainability of supply chain or to the sustainable operation of the whole company. In recent years, have the supply chains undergone significant changes as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, which has forced companies to change the way of their operating in order to make their supply chains more efficient. The COVID-19 crisis has therefore made companies realize that they need to move to a circular economy, as it has shown the disruption or vulnerability of current supply chains. About sustainability is more and more speech and also more and more companies are recognizing its importance, because sustainable supply chain affects to the entire production process, from the sourcing of raw materials to the recycling of products or raw materials, if this is possible. A sustainable supply chain increases a company’s competitiveness and also reduces costs for the company.
