<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The EU has many supranational accomplishments to its credit. Frictions nonetheless exist within the EU because some members want to rollback parts of the consensus (“less Europe”) and others want to expand them (“more Europe”). The conflict cannot be amicably resolved as EU leaders are trying to do in a one-track supranational regime because both factions disagree about whether confederation or federation is best. A solution in a one-track system requires one side to capitulate to the other. This is why the EU is at an impasse. However, the conflict is easily resolved by switching from a one-track to a multi-track supranational system that allows advocates of “more Europe” and “less Europe” to do as they like in some areas, while acting collectively wherever consensus permits. The EU already accepts the multi-track principle with regard to the euro and non-euro zones, and could restore harmony to the European project by applying the principle more broadly.</abstract>

Salvaging the European Union: The Inclusive Multi-Track Supranational Option

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">This research is based on Electrocell, a US battery manufacturing company, which was facing problems in its marketing and sales departments as evidenced by its low performance. Following a short introduction to the firm, literature reviews the two recently emerged and widely debated topics, that is, organizational learning and knowledge management. It is followed by the reasons for Electrocell’s declination and revival before and after acquisition by Restart, a US cosmetic manufacturing company. Then, Knowledge Sharing Model, General Hierarchical Model of Organizational Commitment, Knowledge Management, and Learning Organization Capacity, and Three Dimensional Model are described and critically analyzed. At the end, Knowledge Management System Conceptual Model is applied on the case study thoroughly and critically analyzed followed by summary. The research contributes to the literature and offers important implications for academics, managers and strategists that why learning is important and how does it matter to an organization.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Accessing European funds is very controversial at this moment because of its enormous benefits for the country development. A very important aspect regarding the image of a country is represented by the tourism, and European funds offer an opportunity for raising the potential of a country by coordinating the tourism activities. Tourism planning also has a big impact its advantages being very resourceful due to a responsible funds allocation. In this paper, we have been analyzing a few European funded project – POSDRU 2007-2013 for the development regions. The future direction in developing projects in the field of tourism is to follow very carefully the objectives of the implemented projects and to plan all the activities in a balanced manner. The <italic>paper also shows how online communication can contribute to facilitate the access of the European funds and a better implementation and develop of the projects.</italic></abstract>

Publication of scientific journals is an important thing in the existence of universities. In the dissemination of science results of an education, research, and community service generated by college civitas (Students &amp; Lecturers) can be done with the publication of scientific journals. The purpose of this study is to determine the strategy of management publication of scientific journals that publish many articles of students at higher education. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research data were collected by indepth interview the Director of Graduate, Head of journal publishing unit, and staff of journal publishing unit. This research was conducted at the Journal Publishing Unit of Postgraduate of Brawijaya University. The managers of scientific journal publications should be continue to improve scientific publishing services and the quality of published articles, so that the management of scientific publications can compete with other electronic journals. The development of electronic journals in Indonesia has grown rapidly, within three years of electronic journal publication in Indonesia has increased sharply, from 1500 journals in 2012 to 16280 journals in 2016. This is a challenge for managers of scientific publications in Brawijaya University. The strategy in developing the management of scientific journal publications of students is to hold training activities of scientific journal writing for students to be able to provide the availability of quality articles. Benchmarking activities and management training for journal editing teams to maintain quality management and scientific journal publications. In addition, it is necessary to improve the reputation of scientific journals by paying attention to the Impact Factor; Index Journal, Ranking Journal, h-index, Number of Cites, &amp; Percentage of Rejection Rates in managed journals.</abstract>

Strategic on Management Scientific Publication of Student Journal in Higher Education (a Case Study)

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The global diffusion of Internet involves economic, political and demographic factors that can predict in real time. In this article, we demonstrate that according to data provided by EUROSTAT, the number of people looking for a job in Romania it is correlated with specific query terms using Google Trends. Search engine data is used to “predict the present” values of different economic indicators. The obtained results are compared with the classical method of developing the economic indicators, with official EUROSTAT employment data. In this paper, we demonstrate that the new methods to extract the economic indicators from web technologies are accurate.</abstract>

Information is the material signal able to launch a material reaction of a dynamic auto-tuning system for which the system is conditioned and finalized. Information Technology is the technology needed for handling (procuring, processing, storing converting and transmitting) information, in particular, with the use of computers [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="j_hjbpa-2017-0024_ref_003_w2aab3b7b5b1b6b1ab1ab3Aa">Longley, D. &amp; Shain, M. (1985)</xref>, p. 164]. The importance of IT in the economic growth and development is widely known, taking into account the impact that technology can have on the success and survival, or the failure of the economic activity of enterprises/organizations, IT offering various management information systems (MIS), executive and feedback segments, which all have important and beneficial implications in management and control.</abstract>

Although most companies have implemented special risk management programs, there may be events that can not be controlled by businesses, and unwanted consequences are not delayed.The reason I chose the title “Risk Analysis in Transport and Logistics” is that I noticed the increasing importance of transport and logistics in the last period.The purpose of this work is to determine the impact of risks in transport and logistics activity, and for that has been achieved a desk research, in which I have analyzed the statistical data from 2016, regarding transport services in Romania.I think that this paper will be useful for all who want to understand the significance impact of risks in transport and logistics activity, representing a suitable source of information in this area.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">This paper aims is to analyze several challenges’ those faced by local governments in Indonesia, including its provinces, districts and cities, in implementing the Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. The analysis is focused on 3 challenges, as follows: 1) budget; 2) regulations (Act Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government, Government Regulation Number 27 of 2014 concerning Government Asset Management and Presidential Regulation Number 38 of 2015 concerning Public and Private Partnership for Provision of Infrastructure), and 3) the party that involve on PPP projects. Therefore, some of the developed recommendations are expected to be solution for the local government in addressing these challenges.</abstract>

Thanks to the new approach to the teaching, students become very well-educated when graduate. The text emphasises the importance of foreign language knowledge. It is very interesting how much different is the approach to students in Asian countries and in Finland but both systems eventually provide very good education level to their students. The another part of the article bases for characteristic of two other EU countries – Romania and Poland. In these countries, the internal educational systems are quite similar to each other and guarantee their students very good education level. Thanks to the attendance in Erasmus exchange programme, Romanian and Polish students can broaden their mind abroad.</abstract>

HOLISTICA – Journal of Business and Public Administration

HOLISTICA Journal of Business and Public Administration has been the result of the authors’ need to approach the ‘in integrum’ phenomena, processes and structures in different specializations. The complexity of socio-economic life is a sine qua non that determines specialists to pay more attention to the influence of its parts as a whole, to configure and reconfigure the whole process through modifying its parts. The multitude of relations and interdependences between the economic, social and political environments create the context for integrated multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary analyses, in which specialists from various thematic areas could offer solutions to current issues.  Starting from the definition of the term holism – a conception which interprets the thesis of the irreducibility of the whole to the sum of its parts, considering an immaterial, unknowable principle as an ‘integrating factor’ in the world (DEX), the journal aims to gather scientific and methodological research, viewpoints that would explain the behavior of the specific components and their effects on the whole.
