From January 2021 journal Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning is published by OEKOM, Gesellschaft für ökologische Kommunikation mbH (http://rur.oekom.de).
Aims & Scope
"Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning" is a forum for topics and debates relevant to the field of spatial sciences. The interdisciplinary journal addresses issues of spatial development and planning from perspectives of spatial sciences, social sciences (political sciences, sociology, and economic sciences), economic and social geography and/or jurisprudence. It focuses on spatial planning, policy of spatial and urban development, spatial oriented governance of all scales, landscape development, sustainable development, adaptation to climate change, mobility, and spatial oriented infrastructure.
"Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning" consists of three different sections. Beiträge/Articles make new theoretic-conceptual and/or empirical contributions to national and international scholarly debates. Politik- und Praxis-Perspektive/Policy and practice perspective are scientific examinations of issues relevant to spatial planning and development practitioners. Additionally, the journal publishes Rezensionen/Book Reviews of recent books.
“Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning” addresses four target groups, both domestic and foreign: the spatial research community, spatial policy makers, spatial planning practitioners, and the interested public. The journal facilitates integrative research in the sense of transdisciplinarity not only in a national but also in an international context. Manuscripts are welcome from all spatial disciplines and may be submitted both in German and in English. The journal thus bridges national and international debates. After an initial screening by the editors-in-chief, all submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review by two anonymous reviewers experienced in the respective field.
After the ahead-of-print publication of a text, author charges, known as article processing charges, of €250,- plus VAT are incurred. There are no submission fees. If you are unable to pay the charges, please contact the editors-in-chief. The editors of the journal have established “hardship funds” that may be possible to access.
