Abstract

Abstract

A phenomenon that causes damage to the anchor is exceeding the ultimate strength limit, that may occur as a result of the collision. The subject of this paper is shape of an ensuring an adequate level of reliability. In order to determine loads acting on restraint system, the simulation in MADYMO environment has been made. There has been given characteristics of acceleration impulse in time representing process of real head-on collision. To the preparation of geometry, strength calculation and results visualization, there was used an environment of HyperWorks and ANSYS. The anchor dimensions were optimized using response surface method. The calculation performed with finite elements method (FEM) allowed for shape improvement of initial model. Optimization resulted in increasing of safety factor for 60%.

Innovative test rig for jet fuels thermal stability testing enables research in wide thermal conditions and different pressures. Testing capabilities and advantages compared with currently used standard test method of jet fuels thermal stability testing according to ASTM D3241 have been also presented

The article describes analysis of the risk for the implementation of precise approach procedures (Localizer Performance and Vertical Guidance - LPV) with GNSS sensor at airports in Warsaw and Katowice. There were used some techniques of the identification of threats (including controlled flight into terrain, landing accident, mid-air collision, missed approach, safe landing) and evaluations methods based on: Event Tree Analysis, probability of the risk, safety risk evaluation matrix and Functional Hazard Assesment. Also safety goals were determined. Research led to determine probabilities of appearing of threats, as well as allow compare them with regard to the ILS. As a result of conducting the Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA), there were defined requirements essential to reach the required level of the safety. Abstract

In aeronautics, the question of maintaining the highest possible level of flight safety is the most crucial issue. This is the reason why the scientists, engineers, and aerospace/aviation engineering staff keep searching for ever newer and more reliable methods of increasing the safety level. Therefore, new methods - primarily nondestructive ones - to diagnose aircraft turbine engines are looked for. These methods are expected to prove useful for the real-time monitoring of actual health of the engine and its assemblies. The paper has been intended to outline the most recent methods of diagnosing aircraft turbine engines, including the computed tomography methods as applied to assess health/maintenance status of turbine blades, for the phase mapping of increments in the engine’s rotational speed, to diagnose health/maintenance status of the compressor’s 1st stage rotor blades in pure jets. Other methods discussed are, e.g. vibroacoustic and tribological ones

Risk of Experiment Failure – Analysis of Crash Test Reliability / Ryzyko Niepowodzenia Eksperymentu – Analiza Niezawodności Prób Zderzeniowych

Abstract

The research on automotive safety usually involves crash test experiments. These tests are very expensive, often difficult to replicate, which may lead to serious loss. This paper shows the crash test reliability analysis and classifies the risk of failure of such experiment. 46 frontal crash tests were conducted with the use of crash test dummies. All the tests were prepared according to the standard operating procedure (SOP) and the strict check list was followed before each run. All the tests were categorized for loss and analyzed for the cause of failure. Then the probability of failure of crash test experiment was calculated. From 46 conducted tests, 6 failed, which is 13% of all the tests. The main reason of the test failures was human mistake. The results show that probability of loss during crash tests is very likel

The theme of the publication is to review techniques and measures affecting the reliability of the process of image acquisition face. This issue is closely linked to the biometric identification based on facial image. The focus here in particular on factors external / environmental, not taking into account the quality of this same algorithms. Tests were carried out both on a database built on the model of the face as well as on the basis of the actual images. The object of the research being predestined is not only for stationary applications, but can also be used in mobile objects

The paper presents the reliability estimate of the data transmission system. In practical communication solutions this type of system is widely used. A data transfer between the sender and the receiver is a complex process taking into account the human, communication system and threats. Between these components there are many relationships and dependencies. Current methods use a selective approach to this issue. Therefore, it was decided to develop and present a comprehensive assessment of the system reliability. This method has been verified in representative conditions using commercial and open source tools

In this paper, we present the constructions and reliability firing tests of the special ammunition for M-98 mortar. The research and development works was being carried out as part of the projects No. 347 / BO/B and 348 / BO/B. Qualification firing tests was carried out in 2009 on the training ground in Nowa Dęba. Cartridges with the smoke projectile are intended for filling the area with smoke, indicating targets, protection of the maneuvers of own troops. Cartridges with the illuminating projectile are intended for lighting the area and indicating targets. Reliability firing tests was carried in November 2014 on the training ground in Nowa Dęba

Correctly defined mathematical model of rotor allows creation of numerical simulation model which can be used to generate tip-timing data.
