Wirtschaftspolitische Blätter is a biannual open-access journal focusing on applied economic policy in Austria and Europe. First published in 1954, it ranks among the leading Austrian journals in this field.
Published by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the journal's main aim is to contribute to current debates on Austrian economic policies in a scientifically sound and generally understandable manner, as well as to disseminate the results of empirical research in this area. Thus, it acts as a bridge between science and practice. Its readership includes the scientific community, political decision-makers, and the interested public.
Primarily published in German, the journal features high-quality articles by recognized authors from both research and practice, including contributions from young academics. The articles in Wirtschaftspolitische Blätter span all subareas of economic policy, relating to, for example, location policy, competition policy, labor market policy, fiscal policy, social policy, and environmental policy. Submissions that advance the debate on economic policies in Austria or that emphasize the need for political action based on solid scientific or practical grounds are particularly welcome.
We accept contributions that have not been published elsewhere. The journal is open to publishing original research results, as well as overview and review articles, reports and surveys, conference results, case studies, and other scientific contributions within the scope of the journal.
