Single blinded peer review is used in the Journal (reviewer see the authors, authors don´t know the reviewers). Editor in chief after first formal checking sends the manuscript to the selected most appropriate executive editor (chosen from members of editorial board), executive editor checks first scientific content and plagiarism (using iThenticate SW), if the manuscript is low quality or if there is a suspicion of plagiarism, he will reject manuscript without sending into review. If the manuscript is ready for review, executive editor invites at least two reviewers, after obtaining at least two reviews the decision is sent to the corresponding author (accept without revision, minor revision, major revision, reject). Quality of English is part of both reviewers and editors' evaluations, the journal doesn´t provide any English-language editing. The authors have to declare any conflict of interest. If the reviewer declares conflict of interest executive editor invites another one.

Editorial Policy

Journal of Landcape Ecology is an international scientific journal focusing on landscape ecology. It publishes theoretical and empirical articles, considering spatial and temporal heterogeneity in natural and cultural land. The journal supports integration of knowledge from geo-, bio- and sociosciences at the ecosystem and landscape level. Expertise from the spheres of landuse planning and design, habitat and landscape typology, ecosystem management and biodiversity protection, spatial pattern in various area scales and rules of ecological processes are promoted. Publishing in Journal of landscape ecology is open for experts from universities, research institutes and other scientific institutions regardless of their nationality, ethnicity or religion. The Journal publishes individual articles, mono-thematic issues, conference papers, articles based on theses or research reports. Only technical criteria as quality, language level and technical competence are decisive for accepting or rejection of the article. The Executive Board of the Journal decides on the base of at least two independent reviews. The review process is confidential. The Journal of Landscape Ecology doesn´t apply any author´s fee except payment for colour pages in printed form (100 EUR per page).
