But the existence of the sovereign state in the current international context, where the multiple interdependencies generate divergence and cooperation in the same, is subject to permanent challenges. And the issue is not easy approachable in theory, nor in practice. Like other concepts, as security or democracy, the concept of sovereignty needs to be updated according to the new rules revealed by the process of globalization, rules that are defined not by the equal states, but by the powerful ones.</abstract>

The conclusion that emerges from the study is that military action will remain the beneficiary of forward-looking thinking and initiative, in which past moments are primarily considered as a source of lessons learned to increase the effectiveness of the actions to come.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an increasing role in planning and supporting military operations and becoming a key tool in intelligence and analysis of the enemy’s intelligence. Another field of application of AI is the field of application of autonomous weapon systems and vehicles. The use of AI is expected to have a greater impact on the military functions of human-machine interfaces (machine-learning, man-machine teaming). AI promises to get over the “3V challenge” (volume, variety and velocity) of Big Data, and is also expected to reduce the risks concerning the other “2V” (veracity, value), and to render data processing on a controlled level of decision based on AI’s knowledge. The aim of the article is to provide an overview on the potentials of application of AI in the military and to highlight the need to identify and define measurable indicators to evaluate benefits of state-of-the-art technologies and solutions which are expected to improve quality and performance of operations focusing on key areas as of situational awareness and decision-making support and also logistic and operational planning as well as modelling and simulation (M&amp;S).

The marketing communication system is the general framework in which promotion takes the form of the promotional mix, based on the four promotional tools: advertising, personal sales, promotion sales and public relations, aimed at presenting the organization, its products and services, at raising awareness of potential customers, and of course, at increasing sales to get more profit.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Writing has traditionally been a neglected area of foreign language teaching, and most probably the least popular skill to acquire among students. However, it has lately emerged as an important element of the communication dyad, which also involves speaking, i.e. the oral manifestation of social interaction and exchange of information. When explaining writing in practical terms, the focus falls on showing that there should be a link between real-life needs and instruction, both from the perspective of the language and from that of the task. Understanding writing systematically not only guarantees successful writing outcomes, but also leads to the acquisition of a secondary set of language-related abilities: an informed selection of grammar and lexical structures; a logical pattern of organization in the development of ideas; an appropriate choice of register and style; an overall better approach to writing tasks and contextualizations. This article aims to discuss writing as a productive skill while proposing six different approaches that successfully marry both the linguistic dimension and the task-related awareness students need to acquire in order to successfully express themselves in written forms.</abstract>

By applying GPT-2’s deep learning capabilities to the EMBER and Drebin datasets, this research explores the model’s effectiveness in identifying malware through the intricate patterns present in binary data. Contrary to its original design for natural language processing, GPT-2’s application in this context demonstrates a significant potential for enhancing malware detection strategies. The model’s proficiency in extracting complex features from binary sequences marks a notable advancement over traditional methods, providing a more adaptive and robust mechanism for identifying malicious software. General Aspects Related to Counterfeiting of Material Goods

The literature on college attrition rates has revealed that self-efficacy and locus of control play a critical role in academic performance and retention. However, despite the importance of students’ attitudes in academic performance, there have been few studies focused on how to develop students’ self-efficacy and internal locus of control. We examined the impact of motivational book reading on the promotion of self-efficacy and locus of control by leveraging a mixed method study, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data. One hundred diverse, business students participated in the research, where they read one motivational book and wrote essays to reflect their learning and took surveys that measured the quantitative variables before and after reading the book. The analysis revealed that motivational book reading significantly increased self-efficacy and locus of control of the participants. The qualitative analysis revealed that students expressed improvement in self-efficacy and internal locus of control after reading the book. The limitations, practical implications, and future research implications are discussed in this paper.

The research method consists in identifying equipments that have been applied in the case of small four-stroke marine engines used as emergency generators on board large ships, specifically the Cummins Qsb6.7-G16 model. The results, which were demonstrated by practical experiences of the different possible configurations for the engine studied showed high potential for reducing emissions, but the most suitable alternative is the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).

Enhancing software quality and security hinges on the effective identification of vulnerabilities in source code. This paper presents a novel approach that combines pattern recognition training with cloze-style examination techniques in a semi-supervised learning framework. Our methodology involves training a language model using the SARD and Devign datasets, which contain numerous examples of vulnerable code. During training, specific code sections are deliberately obscured, challenging the model to predict the hidden tokens. Through rigorous empirical testing, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in accurately identifying code vulnerabilities. Our results highlight the significant advantages of employing pattern recognition training alongside cloze-style questioning, leading to improved accuracy in detecting vulnerabilities in source code.

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The cybersecurity of critical infrastructures is an essential topic within national and international security as 16 critical infrastructure sectors touch various aspects of American society. Because the failure to provide adequate cybersecurity controls within the critical infrastructure sectors renders the country open to an attack that could have a debilitating effect on security, national public health, safety, and economic security, this matter is so vital that there is the Presidential Policy Directive (PPD) 21 Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience advances a national policy to strengthen and maintain secure, functioning and resilient critical infrastructure. An organization identified as the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has the mission to be the risk advisor for the United States (US). Other organizations, such as the National Security Agency (NSA), have approved a specific Knowledge Unit (KU) to address cybersecurity for critical infrastructures associated with doctoral-level granting programs. To address this challenge, it is necessary to identify threats better and defend against them while mitigating risks to an acceptable level. Only then can a nation build a more secure and resilient infrastructure for the future while defending against present-day bad actors as cyberwarfare, cyber espionage, and cybersecurity attacks are the modern-day threats that need to be addressed in planning, designing, implementation, and maintenance. Therefore, the researchers developed a case study reviewing threats against different sectors defined in the PPD.</abstract>
