Peer Review Process
Each manuscript is evaluated by editor-in-chief (topic editor) and if the basic requirements are fulfilled the text is sent to be reviewed. Manuscripts that do not fit the journal's ethics policy and do not meet the standards of the journal or do not fit its scope will be rejected before peer-review. Manuscripts that are not properly prepared will be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission. Reject decisions at this stage will be verified by the editor-in-chief and notified within 21 days.
Once a manuscript passes the initial checks, it will be assigned to at least two independent experts for peer-review appointed from outside the Poznan University of Life Sciences, Scientific Board of Journal of Agribusiness and Rural Development and Editorial Board. Reviewers should not have published with any of the co-authors during the past five years and should not currently work or collaborate with any of the institutions of the co-authors of the submitted manuscript.
The double-blind review process is applied, where neither the Authors nor the Reviewers know each other’s identities. A review is a written document, which ends with a definite conclusion whether the article should be published or rejected. The following evaluation criteria and procedures are applied:
A: Accept after Minor Revisions:
The paper is in principle accepted after minor revision based on the reviewer’s comments. The Author receives a message about the positive review along with the Reviewers’ comments and is requested to resubmit the revised paper.
B: Reconsider after Major Revisions:
The acceptance of the manuscript would depend on the revisions. The article is sent back to the Author to make changes suggested by the Reviewers. The Author resends the corrected copy of the article with a point by point response to the Reviewers’ comments. Authors will be asked to resubmit the revised paper within a suitable time frame, and if necessary the revised version will be returned to the reviewer for further comments The Editor-in-Chief makes a decision whether the article should be accepted for printing.
C: Reject:
The article is not accepted for publication and cannot be resent to the Editors.
The average time for the Submission until publication does not exceed 200 days. The reviewers are chosen based on their area of expertise. Every year a list of reviewers collaborating with the Editors is published in the last, fourth issue of the quarterly and on the website, when all the four issues of the journal have been sent to printing.
