Baltic Screen Media Review generally accepts papers that engage critically with screen media phenomena emerging from the Baltic Sea region (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Russia, Poland, Germany, Finland, etc.), as well as scholarly review articles. While most volumes have a thematic focus (typically announced in international media, film and communications studies email lits) we also consider articles on other topics. We are especially interested in articles on the connections between various countries and cultures of the region, as well as between various screen media forms. Analyses of similar issues elsewhere, especially in countries of similar size and circumstances, are also welcome.
Submissions and editorial inquiries should be addressed to bsmr@tlu.ee
Articles should run between 4000 and 8000 words (all included), reviews between 1000 and 3000 words.
Illustrations (up to ten) should be supplied in TIFF or PDF format at a resolution of at least 300 dpi at final size. Copyright of images should be cleared by the author of the article prior to submission.

Open Access Statement
This is an open access journal that provides free, immediate, and unrestricted online access to all its published content for readers around the world.
Peer review policy
The Baltic Screen Media Review follows a strict double-anonymized reviewing policy where both the reviewers and the author(s) remain anonymous to each other. Manuscripts are assessed promptly, typically within 4-6 weeks, though delays might occur in securing suitable reviewers.
Editors consult at least two expert reviewers for feedback on the scholarly merit and presentation of submitted articles. Initially, manuscripts undergo an editorial review by the Editors of the journal to ensure they meet the journal's standards and align with its aims and scope. Only those meeting these criteria proceed to external review. Once reviewed, editorial decisions are made promptly upon receiving reviewers' reports.
