Zusammenfassung

Abstract

In this research we will discuss the creation of the flower cart. It will be examined from an economical and environmental perspective. Additionally, the planning process regarding the carrying capacity and battery runtime will be explained. The cart is moved by three-phase electric motors which are controlled by Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). Electric power is supplied by the large battery pack. Overall, the purpose of this vehicle is to be able to participate in the carnival march while increasing the quality of the event.

Abstract

Proper management of the realization of the general and special training objectives of technical higher education makes it necessary to organize the curriculum and the educational process according to didactic, methodological aspects. Selection of curriculum elements with deductive and inductive approach and their horizontal and vertical arrangement are required. In addition, the curriculum concentration of a given subject, i.e. its connection to other subjects, must be taken into account. This article intends to add to this by raising some points.

Development and Examination of a Knee Prosthesis Geometry

Zusammenfassung

Abstract

The necessity for the knee prosthesis is confirmed by the large increase in the number of patients suffering from arthrosis, which is a present-day disease. Despite this need, there doesn’t exist an optimal knee prosthesis. Nowadays the development of the knee prostheses is progressing. It is very difficult to define the required geometry with traditional methods, because the movement conditions to be created by the prostheses should be similar to the movements of the human knee. During previous research the biomechanical research team of the Szent István University occupied with experimental measurements of the healthy human knee joint movement. In this paper I would like to introduce a method of prosthesis geometry development. As a result, a knee prosthesis geometry has been created which is approaching the movement form of the real human knee joint.

Abstract

Solutions based on Cisco firewall protection provide numerous possibilities for more efficient protection of the abundant quantity of data that is necessary for the operation of an educational institution. Firstly, data phishing can be complicated by the constitution of a virtual network. The IDPS-based access system enables the management center to identify a potential threat in a timely manner. Furthermore, the Cisco-type firewall of a new generation is able to verify the encrypted data in a way that avoids decoding and listening the communication itself. The AAA framework is also an imperative, as in case of a network, control of access is of the utmost importance.

Abstract

Glue applying machines allow the application of glue to a surface during production. The purpose of this work is to solve certain problems with the development of a new machine. In this paper, measurements and tests made before designing the new machine will be presented. The parts of the machine that that have been designed will also be presented as well as a simulation by finite element method conducted for a part of the machine’s support frame that has a critically dangerous cross-section.

Issues such as the scarcity of natural resources, increasing consumption and increasing pollution also present a number of problems. This article presents a process of comparing new alternatives with a specific methodology of decision-making. Zusammenfassung

Abstract

In this article we discuss the interior-point algorithm for the general complementarity problems (LCP) introduced by Tibor Illés, Marianna Nagy and Tamás Terlaky. Moreover, we present a various set of numerical results with the help of a code implemented in the C++ programming language. These results support the efficiency of the algorithm for both monotone and sufficient LCPs.

Zusammenfassung

Abstract

In this article, we study the interior-point algorithm for solving linear complementarity problems, published by Xiaouje Ma, Hongwei Liu, Jianke Zhang and Weijie Cong from the implementation point of view. The algorithm was implemented in C++ programming language, thus supporting the effectiveness of the method. Despite the fact that the theoretical results refer only to the monotone linear complementarity problem, practical testing showed that the algorithm also works well in more general cases.

Nowadays, we encounter automation all around us; whether it be at work, in industry, public places, our homes, or on our handheld devices. It is unavoidable. In this rapidly developing world machines are continuously replacing the human workforce, due to their superior workload capabilities, absence of loss of concentration, greater accuracy, speed and efficiency. In this way, machines surpass manpower in many fields. This project presents an automated lap time measurement system built using NI components which will save the voltages tied to the lap time, and measure human and machine lap times. The data will then be compared and evaluated.

Abstract

There are several technical inventors in Hungary who unfortunately have been forgotten or are not commemorated sufficiently. One of such Hungarian is Manfréd Weiss. In our research we examine his life and work, a life devoted to our technological development. Moreover, beyond his life, we also explore the famous inventor-engineer’s technical achievements and their impacts today. We also study the characteristics of the era in which he lived, in order to better understand the work and context of the inventor better.

I would like to emphasise that during our exploration, we realised the importance of this choice of topic: It is the duty of the later generations to explore and learn the work of their predecessors, and to spread and publish the conclusions as widely as possible.

The Design of a Small-scale Plastic Extruder Machine

Abstract

This paper discusses the design steps, working principle and structure of a small-scale thermo-plastic extrusion machine that will be used in a laboratory at the Sapientia University. The aim of the laboratory is to present the polymer processing technologies by student-built machines and to stress the importance of plastic recycling. In order to recycle plastic parts a grinding process is necessary, followed by extrusion. During the process the machine melts the polymer and extrudes a filament that can be converted into granulates or used as it is. The structure of the extrusion machine is rather similar to that of a commercial one, however it focuses on presenting the manufacturing principles and cost effectiveness.

Abstract

The components of electric connections have a tenancy to corrosion. We can observe a galvanic corrosion process hazard in case of the contact between different electron potential metals. This corrosion process impairs the mechanical properties and the connection through increased resistance. The conduction parameters decrease in some parts that are under high load because of the rise in heat. This heat effect can be undetectable. By thermographic camera experiments, we can reveal this irregularity at an early stage. In this work, we present this investigation and the associated problems.

Due to the current increase in energy demand, renewable energy sources and their utilization have become a priority. Thanks to the Smart Grid, which is currently under development, and with the help of the evolving technologies, we are trying to extract more and more energy from sources that we couldn’t exploit before or which weren’t economically viable. In this article, we examine the airflow field for a theoretical warehouse building, dependent on roof inclination angle. The purpose of the analysis was to select the optimal angle under which a roof mounted horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) could perform efficiently.

Abstract

The price of firewood has increased substantially in the last couple of years due to the high volume of export. The branches and smaller diameter pieces are considered leftovers and are not exportable, however they are suitable as firewood. Chainsaws are used to cut the larger diameter wood, but this way is not efficient for cutting up branches and smaller diameter wood pieces. In this paper we present the structure, working principle and the 3D model of a machine that can be used to chop smaller diameter wood branches in a simple and efficient way.

Abstract

We are convinced that the learning process could be a lot more interesting and more interactive for young people with the help of modern technologies. The presence and the usage of the smartphones is natural for today’s young generations, although they do not use their inherent potential for example for educational purposes. Eddie is a hybrid of a smartphone application and a school book. The school book would keep its original form, but we would make the application fit for a given subject. The already existing pictures in the schoolbooks would work as a special indicator, which our application could read. The application would show different contents virtually in AR (Augmented Reality), based on the scanned image. The shown content could be a 3D model, animation or video.

Model-based Predictive Control of an HVAC System

Abstract

This paper presents the application of two model-based predictive control (MPC) algorithms on the cooling system of an office building. The two strategies discussed are a simple MPC, and an adaptive MPC algorithm connected to a model predictor. The cooling method used represents the air-conditioning unit of an HVAC system. The temperature of the building’s three rooms is controlled with fan coil units, based on the reference temperature and with different constraints applied. Furthermore, the building model is affected by dynamically changing interior and exterior heat sources, which we introduced into the controller as disturbances.

Abstract

The joining of tubular (hollow, sectioned) parts to each other or for rods, sheet-like pieces and occasionally for pipe segments, is often achieved by using technology that uses a pressure welding process. These processes use mostly electrical, thermochemical or mechanical energy, and the implementation is butt, stud or projection welding. Most the pressure welding processes are suitable for the joining of different quality materials. This article summarizes the possible process variations.

Abstract

Nowadays one of the main lines of development in aerial craft is the design and construction of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s). Within this wide topic, development of ultralight (UL) aircrafts is especially popular because of their versatility and relative low cost. My task was to design the shape of an airplane wing-fuselage junction, which will be classified as an ultralight and unmanned aerial vehicle. The most optimal wing-fuselage junction is made with the Ansys simulating program, including model calculations. Based on the calculations and results, solutions can be recommended. With CAD geometry models, first stage of testing of the aircraft with 3D printed models, is prepared.

Abstract

This study describes 5G, the latest wireless technology that is currently under development. It will ensure increased bandwidth as well as newer and higher quality antennas. 5G is actually about further developing 4G/LTE. Due to the rapidly growing number of network devices, the current LTE technology will soon be unsatisfactory in terms of quality of service (QoS), therefore a new concept is needed.

The solution to this problem depends on the quality and complexity of the antennas, as well as traffic management. The planned Fifth Generation Network focuses on these issues to provide more accessible, faster, and more reliable services. The new technology will offer a lot of opportunities for IoT compatible devices such as self-driving vehicles or those used in healthcare. In our opinion we will soon achieve a world of unlimited Internet access.

Abstract

In today’s increased pace of life there are some things with incomparable meanings that we are getting too used to. Because of this, architects today play a very big role in the defense of the legacy of our architecture. It is our duty and responsibility to keep defending this legacy, but not stop at just the level of simple preservation. The city of Pécs is filled with architectural remains from different time periods, but most of all buildings from the era of Ottoman Hungary. This architectural heritage was left from one of the bloodiest time periods from the history of our country, and it has become a symbol for the city. In the shadow of the Ottoman Empire, Pécs became an important trading and cultural center, being a bridge between east and west, north and south. While some of the buildings left from this era were brought to public awareness, a lot of them were forgotten, and only a few people know about the architectural treasures the city holds.

In this paper I would like to highlight some of the forgotten Ottoman heritage, focusing on the religious buildings. As a conclusion to this paper, I would like to present an architectural plan to bring attention to these buildings.

Difficulties in the Machining Super Duplex Stainless Steels

Abstract

Super duplex stainless steels are used in increasingly more areas. The machinability of duplex stainless steels is generally poor. We performed dry turning tests on G X2CrNiMoCuN 26-6-3-3 casted superduplex steel, using two different PVD coated cutting inserts. One of them was coated with TiAlN and other with TiAlSiN. Strong burr and built-up edge formation were observed during our machining experiments; these damaged the edges of the tools. The shortened tests did not show significant difference betwen the effect of the coatings.

Zusammenfassung

Abstract

There is a strong relationship between groups of users who don’t use anti-virus and those who don’t backup their data, meaning that a similar proportion of users don't use either of these two means of protection. In case of users who lack knowledge in informatics there is an increase in the number of virus attacks; these users are more likely to not use anti-virus and neglect to back up their data. For digital systems, users who are – based on our classification – in a lower rank, represent increased risk based on the number of the occurred virus attacks. For every user group there is a need for continuous and repeated safety awareness training to reach and retain a high safety level/

Abstract

Thermal conduction is a heat transfer mechanism. It is present in our everyday lives. Studying thermal conductivity helps us better understand the phenomenon of heat conduction. The goal of this paper is to measure the thermal conductivity of various materials and compare results with the values provided by the manufacturers. To achieve this we assembled a measuring instrument and performed measurements on heat insulating materials.

Abstract

The tools of multi-directional machining, having appeared in the recent years, have revolutionised turning operations. The chip removal of high feed roughing and finishing inserts is so specialised, that new formulas have to be introduced instead of those used so far. In this paper, the result of tests carried out up till now will be summarised; furthermore, a proposal will be made on the description, analysis and calculation of force demand of multi-directional inserts as well as the roughness of the surface being prepared during machining.

Abstract

This compilation presents the main stages of the development process of the University of Óbuda over three centuries, from industrial education to higher education and finally, to the participants of the Conference. The first legal predecessor, the Secondary Industrial School (the Upper Industrial School located at the Vocational School), during the period of technics, led the way to the establishment of Donát Bánki and Kálmán Kandó, later to the Technical College of Light Industry, then to the establishment of an integrated Budapest Technical College, and onward to the successor, the University of Óbuda in the XXI. Century.

Development of a Gait Recognition System in NI LabVIEW Programming Language

Abstract

Nowadays, the biometric identifier’s world is one of the most rapidly developing security technology areas. Within the biometric identification, the research team worked in the area of gait recognition. The research team developed a complex walking recognition system in NI LabVIEW environment that can detect multiple simultaneous reference points using a universal camera and capable of matching a predetermined curve to the collected samples. In the first version, real-time processing was done with a single camera, while in the second, two high-resolution cameras work with post-processing. The program can compare and evaluate the functions that are matched to the reference curve and the current curve in a specific way, whether two walking images are identical. The self-developed gait recognition system was tested on several test subjects by the research team and according to the results, the False Acceptance Rate was zero.

Abstract

Steel Eurocodes have an important role in the correct and adequate design of steel structures. Most of the programs, which are used for the static analysis of these structures take into consideration the information offered by the Eurocodes, thus giving the opportunity to entrust them with the task of solving those problems which are not clear and easily understandable for the user. As will be proven in this article, Eurocode 3 in some cases does not offer proper, clear explanations regarding some decisions. The main criticism for the whole Eurocode package is that the user might not see clearly the connection between the scattered parts of the final solution.

Abstract

The following article summarizes a research with the intention to demonstrate the challenges that architecture students need to face throughout their design tasks. The study is also meant to contribute to the cognition of state-of-the-art methods that can help students with these emerging problems.

The main source of information was a questionnaire. Students were asked about the duties they accomplish when completing a design, about their adopted design methods and about their thoughts on a future profession. As a complement, Interviews were conducted with professional architects from local studios. This allowed a deeper insight into the requirements that the two sides lay down for each other.

The research charts how computer aided design could affect the difficulties that appear in the architectural design process.

Abstract

This summary details the steps that were necessary to fasten a Nokia Puma 560’s gripper to a KUKA KR5 industrial robot found at University of Debrecen, Department of Mechatronics and also demonstrates its applications in the robot cell designed around its usage. It also includes the inspection and reconstruction of said gripper, and the 3D designing of its adapter. The adapter is intended for the KUKA KR5 robot, which is later manufactured using PRO-PLA 3D printing. The KUKA KR5 will also have a robot cell designed and built around it, for educational purposes.

The price of a thermo-gradient table is very high, it can reach thousands of euros. This is the reason why we had the idea of making our own thermo-gradient table, which is much more competitive, and can ease our institution horticulturist’s work.

In this research we will discuss the creation of the flower cart. It will be examined from an economical and environmental perspective. Additionally, the planning process regarding the carrying capacity and battery runtime will be explained. The cart is moved by three-phase electric motors which are controlled by Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). Electric power is supplied by the large battery pack. Overall, the purpose of this vehicle is to be able to participate in the carnival march while increasing the quality of the event.

Abstract

The necessity for the knee prosthesis is confirmed by the large increase in the number of patients suffering from arthrosis, which is a present-day disease. Despite this need, there doesn’t exist an optimal knee prosthesis. Nowadays the development of the knee prostheses is progressing. It is very difficult to define the required geometry with traditional methods, because the movement conditions to be created by the prostheses should be similar to the movements of the human knee. During previous research the biomechanical research team of the Szent István University occupied with experimental measurements of the healthy human knee joint movement. In this paper I would like to introduce a method of prosthesis geometry development. As a result, a knee prosthesis geometry has been created which is approaching the movement form of the real human knee joint.

Solutions based on Cisco firewall protection provide numerous possibilities for more efficient protection of the abundant quantity of data that is necessary for the operation of an educational institution. Firstly, data phishing can be complicated by the constitution of a virtual network. The IDPS-based access system enables the management center to identify a potential threat in a timely manner. Furthermore, the Cisco-type firewall of a new generation is able to verify the encrypted data in a way that avoids decoding and listening the communication itself. The AAA framework is also an imperative, as in case of a network, control of access is of the utmost importance.

Abstract

In this article, we study the interior-point algorithm for solving linear complementarity problems, published by Xiaouje Ma, Hongwei Liu, Jianke Zhang and Weijie Cong from the implementation point of view. The algorithm was implemented in C++ programming language, thus supporting the effectiveness of the method. Despite the fact that the theoretical results refer only to the monotone linear complementarity problem, practical testing showed that the algorithm also works well in more general cases.

There are several technical inventors in Hungary who unfortunately have been forgotten or are not commemorated sufficiently. One of such Hungarian is Manfréd Weiss. In our research we examine his life and work, a life devoted to our technological development. Moreover, beyond his life, we also explore the famous inventor-engineer’s technical achievements and their impacts today. We also study the characteristics of the era in which he lived, in order to better understand the work and context of the inventor better.

I would like to emphasise that during our exploration, we realised the importance of this choice of topic: It is the duty of the later generations to explore and learn the work of their predecessors, and to spread and publish the conclusions as widely as possible.

The Design of a Small-scale Plastic Extruder Machine

Abstract

This paper discusses the design steps, working principle and structure of a small-scale thermo-plastic extrusion machine that will be used in a laboratory at the Sapientia University. The aim of the laboratory is to present the polymer processing technologies by student-built machines and to stress the importance of plastic recycling. In order to recycle plastic parts a grinding process is necessary, followed by extrusion. During the process the machine melts the polymer and extrudes a filament that can be converted into granulates or used as it is. The structure of the extrusion machine is rather similar to that of a commercial one, however it focuses on presenting the manufacturing principles and cost effectiveness.

Abstract

The components of electric connections have a tenancy to corrosion. We can observe a galvanic corrosion process hazard in case of the contact between different electron potential metals. This corrosion process impairs the mechanical properties and the connection through increased resistance. The conduction parameters decrease in some parts that are under high load because of the rise in heat. This heat effect can be undetectable. By thermographic camera experiments, we can reveal this irregularity at an early stage. In this work, we present this investigation and the associated problems.

The price of firewood has increased substantially in the last couple of years due to the high volume of export. The branches and smaller diameter pieces are considered leftovers and are not exportable, however they are suitable as firewood. Chainsaws are used to cut the larger diameter wood, but this way is not efficient for cutting up branches and smaller diameter wood pieces. In this paper we present the structure, working principle and the 3D model of a machine that can be used to chop smaller diameter wood branches in a simple and efficient way.

We are convinced that the learning process could be a lot more interesting and more interactive for young people with the help of modern technologies. The presence and the usage of the smartphones is natural for today’s young generations, although they do not use their inherent potential for example for educational purposes. Eddie is a hybrid of a smartphone application and a school book. The school book would keep its original form, but we would make the application fit for a given subject. The already existing pictures in the schoolbooks would work as a special indicator, which our application could read. The application would show different contents virtually in AR (Augmented Reality), based on the scanned image. The shown content could be a 3D model, animation or video.

Model-based Predictive Control of an HVAC System

Abstract

This paper presents the application of two model-based predictive control (MPC) algorithms on the cooling system of an office building. The two strategies discussed are a simple MPC, and an adaptive MPC algorithm connected to a model predictor. The cooling method used represents the air-conditioning unit of an HVAC system. The temperature of the building’s three rooms is controlled with fan coil units, based on the reference temperature and with different constraints applied. Furthermore, the building model is affected by dynamically changing interior and exterior heat sources, which we introduced into the controller as disturbances.

Zusammenfassung

Abstract

Nowadays one of the main lines of development in aerial craft is the design and construction of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s). Within this wide topic, development of ultralight (UL) aircrafts is especially popular because of their versatility and relative low cost. My task was to design the shape of an airplane wing-fuselage junction, which will be classified as an ultralight and unmanned aerial vehicle. The most optimal wing-fuselage junction is made with the Ansys simulating program, including model calculations. Based on the calculations and results, solutions can be recommended. With CAD geometry models, first stage of testing of the aircraft with 3D printed models, is prepared.

Abstract

Earthquake zones cover a significant part of our earth, therefore, when planning and designing residential areas, factories, or other human establishments, professionals have to take into account the seismic hazard of that area. The current earthquake standard in Romania is based on the European code. This paper presents, beside the most significant structural composition rules, the applicable methods that can be used to ensure sufficient load bearing requirements.

Abstract

The aims of this paper are the development and testing of the pneumatic and output system of the FANUC Spider selecting robot that can be found at the Mechatronics Department, Engineering Faculty of the University of Debrecen. As a result the robot was shown to be capable of several working procedures with the use of the pneumatic vacuum gripper and the use of digital outputs.

Abstract

This study describes 5G, the latest wireless technology that is currently under development. It will ensure increased bandwidth as well as newer and higher quality antennas. 5G is actually about further developing 4G/LTE. Due to the rapidly growing number of network devices, the current LTE technology will soon be unsatisfactory in terms of quality of service (QoS), therefore a new concept is needed.

The solution to this problem depends on the quality and complexity of the antennas, as well as traffic management. The planned Fifth Generation Network focuses on these issues to provide more accessible, faster, and more reliable services. The new technology will offer a lot of opportunities for IoT compatible devices such as self-driving vehicles or those used in healthcare. In our opinion we will soon achieve a world of unlimited Internet access.

Abstract

In the decades elapsed since the construction of the majority of educational buildings in Hungary, there have been various social, economic, and demographic developments that affect the utility of existing infrastructure. These changes present special requirements – those not met by existing, often heritage buildings – setting a challenge to both architects and decision makers. The aim of this study is to analyse the various aspects of these developments and reflect on the extant architectural framework of education, serving as a basis for further investigations on ways architecture can enhance the learning environment.

Zusammenfassung

Abstract

In today’s increased pace of life there are some things with incomparable meanings that we are getting too used to. Because of this, architects today play a very big role in the defense of the legacy of our architecture. It is our duty and responsibility to keep defending this legacy, but not stop at just the level of simple preservation. The city of Pécs is filled with architectural remains from different time periods, but most of all buildings from the era of Ottoman Hungary. This architectural heritage was left from one of the bloodiest time periods from the history of our country, and it has become a symbol for the city. In the shadow of the Ottoman Empire, Pécs became an important trading and cultural center, being a bridge between east and west, north and south. While some of the buildings left from this era were brought to public awareness, a lot of them were forgotten, and only a few people know about the architectural treasures the city holds.

In this paper I would like to highlight some of the forgotten Ottoman heritage, focusing on the religious buildings. As a conclusion to this paper, I would like to present an architectural plan to bring attention to these buildings.

Difficulties in the Machining Super Duplex Stainless Steels

Abstract

Super duplex stainless steels are used in increasingly more areas. The machinability of duplex stainless steels is generally poor. We performed dry turning tests on G X2CrNiMoCuN 26-6-3-3 casted superduplex steel, using two different PVD coated cutting inserts. One of them was coated with TiAlN and other with TiAlSiN. Strong burr and built-up edge formation were observed during our machining experiments; these damaged the edges of the tools. The shortened tests did not show significant difference betwen the effect of the coatings.

An important part of artificial intelligence research are the so-called soft calculation methods, the most important of which are fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms and neural networks. In this article, the authors present a method of identifying certain traffic signs with the help of the neural network.

Abstract

There is a strong relationship between groups of users who don’t use anti-virus and those who don’t backup their data, meaning that a similar proportion of users don't use either of these two means of protection. In case of users who lack knowledge in informatics there is an increase in the number of virus attacks; these users are more likely to not use anti-virus and neglect to back up their data. For digital systems, users who are – based on our classification – in a lower rank, represent increased risk based on the number of the occurred virus attacks. For every user group there is a need for continuous and repeated safety awareness training to reach and retain a high safety level/

Thermal conduction is a heat transfer mechanism. It is present in our everyday lives. Studying thermal conductivity helps us better understand the phenomenon of heat conduction. The goal of this paper is to measure the thermal conductivity of various materials and compare results with the values provided by the manufacturers. To achieve this we assembled a measuring instrument and performed measurements on heat insulating materials.

The tools of multi-directional machining, having appeared in the recent years, have revolutionised turning operations. The chip removal of high feed roughing and finishing inserts is so specialised, that new formulas have to be introduced instead of those used so far. In this paper, the result of tests carried out up till now will be summarised; furthermore, a proposal will be made on the description, analysis and calculation of force demand of multi-directional inserts as well as the roughness of the surface being prepared during machining.

This compilation presents the main stages of the development process of the University of Óbuda over three centuries, from industrial education to higher education and finally, to the participants of the Conference. The first legal predecessor, the Secondary Industrial School (the Upper Industrial School located at the Vocational School), during the period of technics, led the way to the establishment of Donát Bánki and Kálmán Kandó, later to the Technical College of Light Industry, then to the establishment of an integrated Budapest Technical College, and onward to the successor, the University of Óbuda in the XXI. Century.

Development of a Gait Recognition System in NI LabVIEW Programming Language

Abstract

Nowadays, the biometric identifier’s world is one of the most rapidly developing security technology areas. Within the biometric identification, the research team worked in the area of gait recognition. The research team developed a complex walking recognition system in NI LabVIEW environment that can detect multiple simultaneous reference points using a universal camera and capable of matching a predetermined curve to the collected samples. In the first version, real-time processing was done with a single camera, while in the second, two high-resolution cameras work with post-processing. The program can compare and evaluate the functions that are matched to the reference curve and the current curve in a specific way, whether two walking images are identical. The self-developed gait recognition system was tested on several test subjects by the research team and according to the results, the False Acceptance Rate was zero.

Abstract

Steel Eurocodes have an important role in the correct and adequate design of steel structures. Most of the programs, which are used for the static analysis of these structures take into consideration the information offered by the Eurocodes, thus giving the opportunity to entrust them with the task of solving those problems which are not clear and easily understandable for the user. As will be proven in this article, Eurocode 3 in some cases does not offer proper, clear explanations regarding some decisions. The main criticism for the whole Eurocode package is that the user might not see clearly the connection between the scattered parts of the final solution.

Abstract

The following article summarizes a research with the intention to demonstrate the challenges that architecture students need to face throughout their design tasks. The study is also meant to contribute to the cognition of state-of-the-art methods that can help students with these emerging problems.

The main source of information was a questionnaire. Students were asked about the duties they accomplish when completing a design, about their adopted design methods and about their thoughts on a future profession. As a complement, Interviews were conducted with professional architects from local studios. This allowed a deeper insight into the requirements that the two sides lay down for each other.

The research charts how computer aided design could affect the difficulties that appear in the architectural design process.

Abstract

This summary details the steps that were necessary to fasten a Nokia Puma 560’s gripper to a KUKA KR5 industrial robot found at University of Debrecen, Department of Mechatronics and also demonstrates its applications in the robot cell designed around its usage. It also includes the inspection and reconstruction of said gripper, and the 3D designing of its adapter. The adapter is intended for the KUKA KR5 robot, which is later manufactured using PRO-PLA 3D printing. The KUKA KR5 will also have a robot cell designed and built around it, for educational purposes.

In the 21. century, the job of a horticulturist is made easier with the help of a thermogradient table, with which the developmental stage of plants in different temperature conditions can be observed, this way, a plant's optimal ambient temperature can be found. The price of a thermo-gradient table is very high, it can reach thousands of euros. This is the reason why we had the idea of making our own thermo-gradient table, which is much more competitive, and can ease our institution horticulturist’s work.
