<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>India is having a long-term oriented culture where people are more focused on their future rather than present. Due to this the savings rate in India has always remain at a significant level. India’s savings performance has been quite impressive in a cross-country context. India’s gross domestic savings rate in the recent period is comparable to Indonesia, Thailand and Korea, much lower than that of China, Malaysia and Singapore but much higher than that of many other emerging and advanced economies. India ranked 2nd in terms of gross domestic savings among top 10 economies of the world in the year 2015, just below that of China. The gross domestic savings which stood at around 23 per cent in 1990 has reached around 35 per cent in 2015, well above the world average of 23.5 per cent. Various factors which resulted in an increase in gross domestic savings rate are rapid economic growth, large scale migration of rural population to urban area, Rise in income of government employees after 6th pay commission, persistence of saving habits among households, awareness programs by government and financial institutions etc. Household savings has always remained a major component of gross domestic savings followed by private corporate savings and public sector savings. It was the result of high savings rate that the Indian economy stand strong during the global recession of 2008. During the tenth five year plan i.e. from 2002-2007 the increasing in gross domestic savings was maximum among all. Bank deposits have always remain the most preferred avenue for savings for households. Total deposits in Indian banks crossed Rs100 billion mark in 2017.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The rising number of scandals leading to the closure of many large companies is worrisome. The traditional belief is that business and ethics are oxymorons and one is not expected to be totally virtuous during business operations. Nonetheless, this does not mean ethical standards should be side-lined. Professional associations such as the Chartered Financial Institute (CFA) uphold moral values and urge members to exercise high moral standards and diligence in their duties. Philosophically, major accounting scandals could have been nipped in the bud by whistle blowing before the wrong deeds escalated. However whistle blowing is a major issue and is viewed as disloyalty. In this paper, the dilemmas of whistle blowing are evaluated using contemporary ethical theories which are: egoism, deontology and utilitarianism. The analysis shows that deontology and utilitarianism are based on altruism and may support whistle blowing because they are grounded on consideration of other people. It is worth noting that morally upright adults are often a result of being brought up as ethical children from a psychological standpoint.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> Mauritius has undergone massive developments during the past several years. However, along with economic progress, these developments have also been the cause of trouble for the Mauritian population as they have worsened the problem of traffic congestion. Providing state-of-the-art transportation systems is thus crucial for the proper functioning of the Mauritian economy and society. Hence, the paper explores the repercussions that traffic congestion has on the society, economy, and individual. Also, the paper seeks to examine the impact of traffic congestion on several aspects, such as worker productivity, economic growth, commuter health and safety, travel reliability, and the environment. Questionnaires have been helpful tools in obtaining quantitative data. A sample of 100 respondents, consisting of people travelling to and from Ebene and Port Louis on a daily or regular basis, was selected using convenience sampling. The data obtained were then analysed through the SPSS software. Results indicated that traffic congestion negatively impacted on various aspects of the society and economy. The study has depicted that the respondents have affirmed that traffic congestion has an adverse effect on the society, the economy, and the individual. The paper discusses important practical issues relating to traffic congestion in Mauritius, its sources and its effects on the society, the economy, and the individual. Thus, it provides insights to the Mauritian Government and policy-makers on the ways in which they can measure traffic congestion, manage traffic more effectively, adopt appropriate policies, and invest in infrastructural projects. This paper is apt, original, and a must-read as it discusses such issues as traffic congestion, its roots, and its repercussions on the Mauritian society, economy, and individual.</abstract>

Assessing the Causes &amp; Impacts of Traffic Congestion on the Society, Economy and Individual: A Case of Mauritius as an Emerging Economy

A problem of skill mismatch has long been a global issue. The same is true for an emerging market like Cambodia where a large number of youths enter the job market every year. This study aims to investigate the most important employability skills in post pandemic viewed by students, employees and employers. The study also explores the needed skills at private, public and non-profit sectors, and the preparation of students on those competencies for making a comparison and synthesis. To fulfil the earlier objectives, the study applies survey questionnaires and in-depth interviews with 109 participants and 6 interviewees respectively. The findings demonstrate that Being professionally ethical, Being committed to work, and Technology Use are the three main employability skills demanded in the market. However, specific institutions may prefer other skills according to the nature of their work. The study also demonstrates that students possess a few limitations, namely Adaptability to change, Communication, Commitment to work and Advanced digital skills. These weaknesses would be a key message to students and other stakeholders to reconceptualize their current practice to fulfil the gaps.

The promotion of entrepreneurship is a priority objective for the European Union. Each country develops the most appropriate instruments for its economic structure; however, its effects are different depending on the conditions of its environment. The objective of this work is to study whether there are significant differences among European countries depending on whether or not they belong to the Eurozone. A panel data regression model is used to assess the contribution of the different policies to the rate of entrepreneurial activity. The results show that the experts’ evaluations of the implemented policies are higher in the member states of the monetary union. Policies with a negative impact are recurring demands from employers (bureaucracy, tax barriers, improve physical infrastructure).

The study of financial literacy and sustainability has attracted much interest recently and is expanding quickly. This paper offers a trustworthly, consistent, and current financial literacy and sustainability analysis following bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review. Concerning 127 documents published between 2008 and October 2022, we specifically examined the co-occurrence of author keywords, co-citation analysis of cited references, and subsequent in-depth analysis. Results show that the following topics have received the most attention in analyzing financial literacy and sustainability research: (1) financial inclusion; (2) financial behaviour; (3) financial systems; and (4) decision-making. The trick-down growth and development theory, the consumption function theory, the resource-based view theory, and the theory of entrepreneurship are the theoretical pillars supporting this study’s structure. Next, we create an integrative framework as the foundation for additional research. As a result, this review provides a thorough overview of financial literacy and sustainability research.

Given the rapid evolution of the technological advancement in AI and its potential impact(s), this paper aims to identify the ways in which AI crosses paths with business sustainability, to provide an overview of the topic and to uncover research trends using a bibliometric approach. In order to reach the research goal of the paper, we investigated the academic literature published and indexed in Scopus database using computer assisted quantitative techniques on bibliometric data and with the help of VOSviewer we visually emphasized the interconnections between fields and results. Ultimately, the present paper intends to contribute to a deeper understanding of the symbiotic relationship between AI and business sustainability, by providing insights that are purposed to enhance the academic discourse in a rapidly evolving domain.

The findings suggest that students who engage in practical activities view their courses as more relevant to their career advancement. This pattern is consistent across an array of courses, with various statistical analyses revealing degrees of significance. The study underscores the need of aligning educational programmes with labour market standards and professional requirements, particularly within fields that emphasise practical competencies. Nowdays investors and other stakeholders increasingly consider ESG factors when making investment decisions. They were supported by numerous rating agencies that developed a large number of indices and reporting standards to facilitate the choice of the most sustainable companies from an ESG perspective. When the relationship between financial performance and sustainability was analyzed, the researchers did not reach an unanimously accepted conclusion: many studies show a positive relationship, while others show a negative one. In many studies, the relationship between ESG performance and financial performance, assessed through profitability rates was privileged. The aim of this study is to investigate if there is a relationship between ESG performance and the liquidity rates of the listed companies from emerging financial markets in European Union. The emerging markets in European Union were selected due to their attractiveness, as they offer high earning possibilities to investors. At the same time, aspects regarding the mandatory of non-financial sustainability reporting, starting from 2023, were taken into account. This will increase the comparability and homogeneity of ESG scores, but will also generate additional reporting costs, putting suplimentary pressure on companies.

Analysis of the Links Between ESG Performance and Liquidity Rates for the Companies Listed on the Emerging Markets in the European Union

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Over the past decades, the focus of the scientists has shifted towards the area of organizational change. The concept has been approached from several perspectives and studied by numerous disciplines and refers to a shift or transformation of an organization, of several components of the organization or of the processes that lie within. Being in an environment characterized by competitiveness and complexity, organizations are under a constant need of change, of progress, while the aim of each change is to improve the aspects that make this happen. The dynamics of the labour force market has contributed to the creation of an environment in which organizations are permanently facing the need to implement various changes regarding their strategy, structure, processes or culture. Henceforth, the factors that can alter the implementation of change benefit from an increased focus. Understanding the reason for which some employees can resist change can have major financial implications for the organization. When considering the human resources involved in the change, nothing seems simple; most of the times things are not as they should be, and most of the employees experience a resistance to change, sometimes in the form of change-specific cynicism, a notion defined as the belief of employees that the organization in which they work lacks integrity. This paper represents the cultural adaptation of Change-Specific Cynicism Scale (a scale proposed by <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="j_sbe-2016-0034_ref_016_w2aab2b8b7b1b7b1ab1ac16Aa">David J. Stanley in 1998</xref>, validated on the Canadian population), to the specifics of the Romanian population and supplies a method of evaluating change-specific cynicism for the specialized literature. Statistic results have shown that the Change-Specific Cynicism Scale has a high level of internal consistency (α=0,84) and can be used exclusively for equivalent populations. Moreover, this paper aims to approach the term organizational cynicism and its role in the context of organizational change.</abstract>

Change, Resistance to Change and Organizational Cynicism

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The purpose of the present study is to examine the long run and the short run relationship between stock price and a set of macroeconomic variables for Indian economy using annual data from 1979 to 2014. The long run relationship is examined by implementing the ARDL bounds testing approach to co-integration. VECM method is used to test the short and long run causality and variance decomposition is used to predict long run exogenous shocks of the variables. The results confirm a long run relationship among the variables. Evidence suggests that Economic growth, inflation and exchange rate influence stock prices positively. However, crude oil price influences the stock price negatively. This implies that the increase in oil price induces inflationary expectation in the mind of investors and hence stock prices are adversely affected. The VECM result indicates that short run and long run unidirectional causality running from economic growth and FDI to stock prices in India. The result of the variance decomposition shows that stock market development in India is mostly explained by its own shocks. The Government can take steps to control the crude oil price in India and Investors’ confidence has to be gained by boosting the economic growth of the economy through appropriate policy tools.</abstract>

The Impact of Macroeconomic Indicators on Indian Stock Prices: An Empirical Analysis

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Nowadays, different levels of stress and nervousness can be found in organizations. Owing to the fact that employees spend most of their time in organizations, stress may affect the health of employees. Hence, study of stress and the factors that make stress can be a viable decision in that by eliminating these factors organizations can have healthier employees. This study is a correlation study which aims to determine the possible relationship between toxic leadership and job stress. Data collection tools including two standard questionnaires were used. The questionnaire adopted from toxic leadership (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="j_sbe-2016-0037_ref_016_w2aab2b8b8b1b7b1ab1ac16Aa">Schmidt and Hanges 2009</xref>) to measure the toxic leadership in organizations and the NIOSH Generic Job Stress Questionnaire (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="j_sbe-2016-0037_ref_008_w2aab2b8b8b1b7b1ab1ab8Aa">Hurrell and McLaney 1988</xref>) to measure the job stress. In order to analyze the data SPSS software was used. Results show that there is a significant direct relationship between toxic leadership and the job stress of employees. In other words, the more toxic leadership perceived by employees, the more job stress they feel.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Regarding the link between economic growth and it’s public outcomes, this paper studies the effect of economic growth on life expectancy in Iran during 1966-2013. To achieve the research objectives, annually data collected from World Bank Database and I used the life expectancy at birth and annually GDP growth rate to measure the research variables. Then I applied Vector Error Correction Model to estimate the proposed model. The results on this study show that economic growth has a positively significant effect on life expectancy in Iran during the observation period.</abstract>

Economic Growth and Life Expectancy: The Case of Iran

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> This study aims to determine how CSR activities of banks in Mauritius impact on customers’ satisfaction and loyalty towards banks. A stakeholder approach to CSR and Carroll’s (1991) four part definition was adopted, which included economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic corporate social responsibilities. A three- section questionnaire was used for data collection. 384 questionnaires were distributed, out of which 352 were returned. The results indicate that philanthropic CSR, economic CSR and ethical CSR, in their order of descending importance, are significant predictors of customer satisfaction and loyalty. The study shows that legal responsibilities however did not influence customer satisfaction and loyalty. The study concludes that philanthropic, economic and ethical CSR could be areas to further investigate with a view to benefit from competitive advantage in the banking sector. The study purports to contribute to existing literature by providing evidence that Carroll’s model may not be applicable in non-western context, more particularly so, in small economies. The study also advocates future research avenues.</abstract>

Do CSR Practices Of Banks In Mauritius Lead To Satisfaction And Loyalty?

This study focused on to examine whether the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) in a Peruvian education enterprise impacts on process management of enterprise which in turn enhance the performance of employees. Also, it is analyzed the impact of technology literacy on process management. Empirical data were collected using a survey questionnaire which was distributed to 142 ERP users in a Peruvian education enterprise to test the relationships among variables. Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was analyzed the validity of construct and discriminant and, internal consistency by the composite reliability. ERP implementation has a positive impact in the performance of employees. The process management had a mediation effect between ERP implementation and performance. Also, technology literacy had an impact on performance. Outcomes provide further support for the validity of the model in Peru and globally. Thus, business owner/managers can use the model to help improve their options of success. Other stakeholders, investors and institutions that provide them with investment can also benefit from this model. The information also provides information to ERP implementation agents to support small business development. This is the first study reports the mediating effect of business strategy and organizational capabilities on the relationship between ERP implementation and firm performance. The outcomes of this study can be used to evaluate success of the ERP implementation evaluating preliminary the basic level of technology literacy.
